As an extension of Second Chance Month, Southern Coalition for Social Justice celebrates reentry heroes who invest in community members returning home after incarceration.
Our Community Organizer Sala Abdallah showcases the people who changed his life: Demetrius Lynn at the Durham Local Reentry Council, Maurice Wilson, owner of Fo Sho Clothing, and T-Mac Tinting owner Roy “Buzzie” Hubbert.
Sala also highlights SCSJ’s reentry and expungement support:
- Your First 48 Toolkit for a successful reentry process 48 hours after release
- Umar Muhammad Clean Slate Toolkit for a step-by-step guide to removing eligible N.C. charges
- Fair Chance Business Certification Program certifies businesses that remove criminal record questions from their initial application forms
