RESEARCH
Analyzing Data Sets
SCSJ analyzes complex data that provides quantitative support in our litigation and policy advocacy efforts.
Quantitative Research Resources
Southern Coalition for Social Justice’s work to dismantle systems of oppression often requires analyzing data sets from a variety of sources. These data sets are acquired through internet research, data acquisition requests to government agencies, and even web scraping for data that is not easily accessible.
After cleaning and performing quality checks, SCSJ distills complex data into a focused narrative or deliverable by finding patterns and connections that ultimately support our litigation and policy advocacy efforts.
Challenged Voter Data
SCSJ analyzed the list of challenged voters released by the State Board of Elections and found that 25% of the alleged "never-residents" targeted by Judge Griffin lived in North Carolina.
