COMMUNICATIONS
Connecting with Communities
SCSJ’s Communications Program hosts community engagement events that focus on advocacy, education, and justice. These events often involve collaboration with partner organizations and/or community members.
Past Community Engagement Events
SCSJ strives to provide educational, engaging events that raise awareness of injustices in the community. Events range from screenings and panel discussions to rallies and pop-ups. We also team up with partner organizations to widen our reach.
“Is It Just Me?” Film Screening and Panel Discussion
SCSJ hosted a mini documentary screening about the wrongful conviction of James Richardson, who was sentenced to life in prison for a double homicide he didn’t commit.
Brookhaven Film Screening & Panel Discussion
SCSJ produced a mini documentary screening and panel discussion about Brookhaven residents challenging the special use permit for construction of a RaceTrac gas station in their community.
Social Media and Communications Training
SCSJ, in partnership with Zealous, hosted a comprehensive and collaborative full-day social media and communications training and networking event.
