Katie Crisp serves as a paralegal for Justice System Reform and Environmental Justice at Southern Coalition for Social Justice. Before she came to SCSJ in 2023, she worked as a defense litigation paralegal, a substitute teacher, and a Program Coordinator at Duke School of Medicine.

Katie was born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the National University of Singapore in 2021 with her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. Her coursework focused on Chinese, Portuguese, authoritarian regimes, and environmental justice.

Katie is passionate about community resiliency and honored to be able to support the South through SCSJ’s coalition building and community lawyering approach.
