Jacob Nelson joined the SCSJ team as the Development Associate in April of 2021 after several years of working in sexual and domestic violence prevention and support.
Jacob Nelson is from Northwestern Ohio, where he got his degree in Visual Communications Technology from Bowling Green State University. In 2015 he began working in a dual domestic and sexual violence shelter as their office manager and later became a “non-profit jack of all trades”. He moved to NC in 2019 and worked for the Orange County Rape Crisis Center as their Development Coordinator for 2 years.
With a particular passion for sustainable systems of giving, stewardship, and relationship building, Jacob brings his experience in development to this values-based work. In his free time, Jacob enjoys exploring the Triangle’s many trails, very amateur bird watching, rock climbing, and video games.
