Pasquotank Candidate and SCSJ client Montravias King is doing a phone interview on Rachel Maddow tonight!
Montravias King
The Pasquotank County Board of Elections on Tuesday barred Elizabeth City State University senior Montravias King from running for city council, ruling his on-campus address couldn’t be used to establish local residency. Following the decision, the head of the county’s Republican Party said he plans to challenge the voter registrations of more students at the historically black university ahead of upcoming elections
Montravias King was represented at the Board of Elections hearing by SCSJ staff attorney Clare Barnett. Plans are already in place to appeal the ruling, which many fear will erode the voting capacity and engagement of students. Tonight Montravias will do a phone interview on the Rachel Maddow Show – be sure to tune in and support SCSJ’s client in his quest to participate in the electoral process! Click here to support SCSJ’s work!
