On Wednesday, July 27 at 6pm, join us for a statewide training on how North Carolinians can change their local voting maps to win better representation. Featuring leaders from community group Alamance for Good Government, and Hilary Harris Klein & Katelin Kaiser at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, speakers will share legal and community organizing tactics for changing your local “method of election” from discriminatory “at-large” systems — which marginalize certain voters — to “single-member” systems, which guarantee more responsive elected officials. This training is designed to educate and support advocates in all North Carolina counties, especially the vast majority currently electing local officials through at-large systems.
Date: July 27, 2022
Time: 6pm-7pm
